The Power of Belief: Building on What Matters Most

Lauren Hall • November 4, 2026

As we approach the end of another year, I have been reflecting on how far we've come at Sanctuary Early Learning Adventure, the achievements we've celebrated, the challenges we've overcome and the opportunities that lie ahead.

Recently, we brought our Centre Directors together to celebrate our achievements in 2026, reflect on what matters most and set our direction for the year ahead. I value these opportunities enormously.

Because while these conversations happen behind the scenes, the reason we have them is at the very heart of Sanctuary.

Your children

Every decision we make, every opportunity we create for our educators, and every standard we uphold comes back to one thing, providing your child with the very best early education and care.

And that's something Damian and I have never been willing to compromise on.

As I prepared for our time together, I kept coming back to one word.

Believe.

It's such a simple word, yet I've been thinking a lot about how much our beliefs influence what we think is possible, how we approach challenges and the opportunities we create for others.

Believing in the people around us

In September, I attended a professional development opportunity that explored the power of our thoughts, the language we use and the beliefs we hold about ourselves.

One of the discussions that stayed with me was how easily we can become focused on what isn't working, what we haven't achieved or what we still need to do.

But what happens when we change that conversation? When we recognise what we've already achieved, celebrate our strengths and ask what else could be possible?

It's a question I've been reflecting on in all areas of my life, as a mum, wife, daughter, sister, friend and business owner.

I have always believed that every child deserves exceptional people in their life. And I believe those exceptional people deserve leaders who recognise their potential, challenge them to grow and create opportunities for them to achieve more than they thought possible.

One of my greatest passions is growing the people who make Sanctuary what it is.

When you entrust your child to Sanctuary, you are placing them in the care of people who will play an important role in their earliest years.

People who will celebrate their milestones, comfort them when they need reassurance, encourage their curiosity and help them discover what they are capable of.

And I believe those people deserve the very best from us, too.

That's why we invest so deeply in our educators and leaders. I want our team to feel proud of their profession, confident in their abilities and supported to keep learning and growing. I want our leaders to believe in what their teams are capable of and create opportunities for them to grow and achieve their potential.

Because when we invest in exceptional people and hold ourselves to the highest standards, that commitment reaches far beyond our teams.

It reaches every child and family who places their trust in us.

Great things are built in ordinary moments

Another message from that professional development experience has stayed with me.

Motivation won't sustain you. Habits will.

It's easy to feel inspired by a new year, a fresh idea or an exciting goal. But what truly makes a difference is what we choose to do consistently, long after that initial excitement has passed.

For Sanctuary, this means ensuring our commitment to exceptional quality is reflected in the everyday experiences of our children and families.

It starts with our people. When our educators feel valued, supported and genuinely cared for, they are empowered to bring their very best to the children and families they care for every day.

It's the educator who knows exactly what a child needs to feel safe, secure and settled in the morning.

The excitement on a child's face when they achieve something they have been working so hard towards, celebrated by an educator who knows just how much that moment means.

The friendships, the laughter, the messy play, the little conversations and the moments of discovery that happen every single day.

It's the meaningful relationships our educators build with families, the knowledge and passion they bring to their teaching, and the genuine care they show for every child.

These are the moments that make Sanctuary special. And behind every one of them are dedicated educators, thoughtful planning, strong leadership and a commitment to exceptional quality.

While we take enormous pride in being a family owned and founder led business, we're equally proud of the exceptional quality of education, care and service our teams provide every day.

We want families to feel the difference, not simply hear us talk about it.

And that means never becoming complacent. Continuing to learn, challenge ourselves and uphold the high standards that make Sanctuary who we are.

Our Vision: Exceptional people, exceptional experiences

As we look towards 2027, one thing remains at the heart of everything we do.

Our Vision is to cultivate the nation's most skilled, fun loving and dedicated team of educators, equipped with the resources to deliver exceptional programs for children, consistently exceeding expectations.

It's a Vision I believe in wholeheartedly.

Because I believe the quality of a child's early education experience begins with the quality of the people around them.

Exceptional early childhood education doesn't happen by chance. It comes from passionate educators, strong relationships, meaningful learning experiences and a shared commitment to providing every child with the very best.

And while our Vision begins with our educators, its impact extends so much further.

It lives through five important pillars that guide who we are and the experiences we create: Our Team, Our Children, Our Community, Our Impact and Our Responsibility.

Together, they reflect our commitment to exceptional educators, safe and nurturing environments, genuine partnerships with families, making a positive difference in our communities and creating a workplace where our people feel valued and supported.

These aren't simply words in a planning document.

They are the beliefs that shape our decisions, the standards we uphold and the experiences we want every child and family to feel when they walk through our doors.

As we look to the year ahead, our commitment is to continue investing in our people, strengthening the relationships that make our communities special and building on the exceptional quality of education and care we are so proud to provide.

As an owner, there is nothing more rewarding than seeing our people grow, our centres thrive and, most importantly, seeing the happiness, confidence and growth of the children in our care.

To every family who has chosen Sanctuary to be part of their child's early years, thank you. Damian and I never take for granted the trust you place in us to care for the people who mean the most to you.

And to those families who are just beginning to discover Sanctuary, I hope this gives you a little insight into who we are, what we believe and why we care so deeply about the experiences we create.

Because every child deserves exceptional people in their life. And at Sanctuary, we are committed to being those people, every single day.

Greatness isn't one big moment. It's what we choose to do, every single day.

There's an old saying that it takes a village to raise a child. And while the world has changed considerably since those words were first spoken, the sentiment behind them feels just as important today. Because behind every child who is learning, growing, discovering and finding their place in the world, there are people helping them along the way. Parents, grandparents, siblings, educators, friends and neighbours. People who celebrate the milestones, offer reassurance on the difficult days and help children feel that they belong. In early childhood education, strong partnerships between families, educators and the wider community help children feel safe, supported and connected. These relationships bring together the people who know and care for a child, creating a network of support that extends well beyond the childcare centre. At Sanctuary Early Learning Adventure, we believe these connections are at the heart of a meaningful early learning experience.
